Getting crafty – Making backdrops

Want to learn how to make a simple backdrop decoration that you can use any time?  This particular project can be used for holiday backdrops, every day backdrops or even accents to a backdrop that you already have.

All you need are three things:

  1. objects of lightweight to use as décor – we like the foam shapes in hearts, stars, etc that you find at craft stores
  2. thin fishing wire
  3. sewing needle

Now, take the sewing needle and thread the thin fishing wire.  Thread the needle through the bottom of the object and through the top, making small holes for the wire to go through.  Allow for some space between each object, placing between three to five objects on each wire.  Once you have thread all the objects on the wire, attach the wire to the backdrop bar and continue to make another wire thread of objects.  Make about three or four total wires of objects, then you have a new, handmade, crafty backdrop additive that makes everything unique.

Try it out!  Let us know what you come up with.
